We freeze too early to do a harvest celebration later. I've had frost al week and snow isn't far behind. Still not sure why I keep living here....

I was just remarking that Thanksgiving seemed too late, must be for those folks down Toronto way, since harvest is well and fully over by now here.

There are a ton of good reasons to live here, really only one big shining one not to ....

Carey,

There's always the "not paying $700/month for health insurance" to console you through the winter.

Immersion weight news:

The immersion weights are all made and drying slowly. I also need to wait until after Open Studios (this weekend) to bisque fire them. Then I need to accumulate enough ware for a glaze firing (won't take long, I just made three two-gallon vases). Likely they'll be done sometime in mid-to-late November.

All,

Immersion weights are currently awaiting firing. Sorry for the wait; with all of the shows and holiday sales at this time of year, I've had to jockey for a kiln.

Fuzzy, I'm looking for an old-time cassoulet pot. Like these, with the narrowing bottom, pouring lip, handles:

https://www.google.com/search?q=cassoulet+pot&client=firefox-a&hs=tiQ&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=sb&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=qN95VKqoEcuqggTl6oCoBg&ved=0CH0QsAQ&biw=1236&bih=710

I'd sure buy one from you if you made it................

Kathy,

What diameter (rim diameter)? And does it need to go on the stovetop?

They're large, about 12-14 inches across the top, about 8 inches tall, and hold at least 5 quarts.
It only needs to go into the oven, not the stove.
