To everyone on the East coast, stay safe. Thinking of you all.

Thank you Nancy. We are hunkered down and will try to stay safe and dry. And will keep you posted as the Sandy decides what she wants to do.

Everybody be safe. This is storm is supposed to connect with the High Winds we have been having out of the North East and cause 27' waves in Lake Huron. Very strange weather pattern for this time of year.

Between the hurricane and its resulting blizzard inland, this is one horrible storm. Stay safe.

And I am being a port in the storm. Sabine (from the other board) is stranded in Zurich so is coming here tonight. I hope the rest of you are safe and sound.

Been cooking nonstop for a couple of days! Fridge and freezer are packed (as is the wine cooler!). We're good provided we don't lose power (this is where cooking sous vide gets tricky!). So far, the storm is not so bad. Hardly any power loss in the area (Baltimore) but then again, it's only just begun.

Stay dry!

Mary, I was hoping she got to you. Have fun together!

As Mary pointed out (on facebook), facebook is proviing to be a great resource to track the storm. I'm hoping that it's not as bad as expected. We should see it here tomorrow, but hopefully it will have calmed some on its route inland.

Stay safe everyone.

I had a friend coming home from Tennessee this weekend she said the road traffic going East was thick with utility company trucks loaded with wire, poles etc. It looks like they are getting staged for the worst. Good to know that they are mobilized.

She was flying through Zurich anyway so it worked out perfectly. She should be getting here shortly. Glad I get a second chance with her. I took her out for lunch at a place that had been good but turned horrific between visits. Ugh.
