Someone may want click on merstar's profile button and see why she is listed as...
User is inactive
Reason: Profile details changed

and why her name is no longer in the member list.

That's the same thing that happened to javafiend. Both of the accounts went inactive when they changed their email addresses.

Not sure, but I think a change in email address requires confirmation at the new address. Until that occurs the account goes into an inactive status. When this happens the info doesn't appear in the member list (I know because I was looking for javafiend yesterday until Amy told me to look at inactive members).

Recently another member successfully changed their address and has been posting so I don't think it's a board issue. Just a guess, but it might be that the email from the board is being trapped by an over-agressive SPAM filter.

If we know that's the issue it's easy for an Admin to reset the account status.

This is correct. I think this feature is designed to prevent a hijacker from taking over your account. I could probably disable it if we think that it's counter-productive.

Yup, that was me, and after confirming with the new email address, everything worked perfectly.

On follow-up: this feature, annoying as it is, just prevented a session hijacker from taking over Merstar's account. So I think we should keep it.

Fuzzy, somehow my requirements gathering has turned into being the admin for my work forum. We're keeping that feature too.
