Now you're just being pedantic.

No milk or cream in mine. A splash of water. Makes the best. Fluffy, not dry. In a very hot skillet with a knob of butter. Stir like crazy.

DH makes his in a saucepan and cooks them very slow. They're pretty good, too and that's the method he taught our kids.

And Mary, grin and bear it. It's the best way for kids to learn. Just make them aware they have to eat their mistakes.

I do about a t. of water per egg, whisk with pinch of salt, cook in skillet with a spoon of butter stir / turn gently with corner of spatula, makes a purdy good egg.

snip...I think I just have to not overwhelm them with help and give them just 1 tiny tip at a time and in about 100 years I will get my egg. I learned to cook by trial and error too and I don't want to make other people's food I want to make mine so I totally get that they don't want me playing Mama Know-it-all. And they do help me out and ask questions and basically do an ok job. I am the one with the problem and need to hold myself back in order that they make those mistakes and learn their own way of doing things. I think the answers probably lies in more alcohol. ;)

Mary, that's me in a nutshell too. I want them to be self sufficient but if I have to eat the result too it's sooooo hard to just let them fly.
Hubby's scrambled eggs are dry and his sunnyside up are dry on bottom and gelatonious (sp?) on top. 83 years to go to my egg.

Thanks Pete. I never noticed it while contemplating the irony of Fuzzy's OCD triggering mine. ; )
