I hate "Foodie." I prefer not to bring it up. I just like to be known as the guy whose pie you should try to get a piece of at the party.

The thing I get called nowadays that I hate is Stay-at-Home-Mom. Women who would gladly read me a lecture about how "housewife" is anti-feminist because it defines women by their relationships, will turn around and refer to me as a SAHM. Uhm, "Mom" is a relationship, too, even if my kid is higher maintenance than my husband.

Totally agree...it should be about being able to make the choices that are right for you, no matter what they are

as for the f-word :D , I'm not wild about it, but then again, I don't usually get called that

I'd be happy to go with Goddess. Just Goddess. At least I can still get by on my old title, especially if I put (ret.) next to it.

FWIW, I don't mind the word "foodie". I use it myself.

But, is this a little too flashy for a small midwestern city?

The finest eaterati I ever knew was my father -- born in Lincoln, Nebr. and raised in Lincoln, Omaha, Des Moines. Midwesterners know about food!
