Food Nut and Food Obsessed seem to fit. Most of my friends consider me an "obsessed nut" when it comes to food.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Food obsessed probably describes it for me.

Hi,

But what can you call me?

A perfectionist.

HeyHey,hey, hey, hey: That was on no way derogatory. You drove moi to be better and to try harder; as did tobb. Plus, I am :o that you have never heard me using sailor language a few states away. Mayhap we'll just call you chief. When I saw you scraping veggies(with cheap knives!), instead of using a peeler....well.....I am happy to count you as a cooking mentor; and friend.

Or, a food nut that has a restauranteur son? If my kids grow up loving good food(H hates MD's)-it's all good. :D

"My aunt makes food that tastes really good.
Our mom just feeds us."
From my niece and nephew.
And I couldn't be more proud of them.

A lot of my friends say gourmet...which I am not. A couple have said foodie, which I don't mind all that much in the context of the conversation. I just say obsessive. As in I'm obsessive about eating real food as much as possible and letting my kids appreciate good food. Plus it's something I can try to control, because in life there's just so much that we can't. ;)
Darcie- I have the same image when I hear "gourmand" - stuffy dude.

The fact H hates McD's is a tribute to you.

Kind of funny...the kids here in Telluride have no idea what fast food is. (We have no chain restaurants.) Their idea of "fast food" is a burger from The Sweet Life (a throwback diner kind of place)...which actually makes pretty decent food.

Most people just tell me I'm a good cook, or a great cook if I ply them with enough food and beer.

The thing I get called nowadays that I hate is Stay-at-Home-Mom. Women who would gladly read me a lecture about how "housewife" is anti-feminist because it defines women by their relationships, will turn around and refer to me as a SAHM. Uhm, "Mom" is a relationship, too, even if my kid is higher maintenance than my husband.

But motherhood is a calling and being a wife is a sort of indenture? I never understood the people who are all for freedom until you want to do something they think is icky.

DH calls me a "Foodle" which I think sounds like a poodle who likes food. (Sigh.)
