i did use instant, and it's possible that it's old but I don't think so. I keep it in the fridge. You use 9*5 loaf pans, right? I can't imagine all that dough going into 8*4. Maybe I mis-measured...I stopped partway through that part to referree what was turning into a wedgie war, so anything it possible. No worries, we love the bread and I will make it again!

Glad you liked it. I'm sorry it gave you trouble. I have to measure my pans. Not sure what I use, to tell you the truth.

next time I won't start with cold water and will measure the yeast out before adding it to the bowl...actually if I'd just do mise en place my life would probably be a lot easier.

Hi all, So this is where you all have disappeared to ! Reading through this thread, it was so great to "see" all the familiar names, just like old times! The "other" place just hasn't been the same for a very long time. Thanks to Crystal for giving me the invite to come on over. Fuzzy, thank you for providing such a "sweet" place to gather. And I want to thank Tim because he was the one who inspired me to make my first stock many years ago and I have continued making stock many, many times since. There are so many people here that have helped me become a better cook : Amy,Tim, TLC Tim, Kurt, Frank(he taught me about CHILI!),Rhonda. To all of you a big thanks, Steph
