Since I am a victim (no other word covers it) of occasional Opthalmic migraines - the actual blinding headache - I have no interest in not seeing my food, or anything else. I'll take vision any time.

I dont like the part about not knowing what they are serving ahead of time....with my luck it would be a nut-crusted fish :(

I think I finally understand the meaning of a triple blind taste test.

Yeah, as someone with allergies, I'd hate to think that there'd be a potential need for an epipen and either no way for anyone to see that I needed it, or worse yet, having someone take blind swipes at me with it. Not my idea of a fun date!

Carey, JF,

Yeah, I was thinking this kind of restaurant is not suitable for those with allergies. Or, for that matter, picky eaters.

I suspect that if you tell them there could be a problem they could make a menu free of deadly ingredients. You still might not know what it was beforehand. Then you would have to judge how much you trusted these guys to not kill/poison you.

Since many (all?) allergens can easily lurk in food unseen, light or no light, I think you always have to trust the restaurant.
