Here's a photo of that Za'atar, which I started on 3-3, to give Fuzzy an idea of how slow it is! The Hoja Santa, also started at the same time, is even smaller, but the Red Epazote got huge! The pots they are in are 3", for reference, and you can see how much larger that epazote is than the pots.

Hoja Santa - blurry, because it is so small, and I had to get so close.

Dave,

Oh, thanks! My Za'atar is ahead of yours, except that I got 4 failures out of 6 starts (!!!) Some of them failed because the starter pod got moldy before the zaatar sprouted.

Never thought to grow epazote. Don't use it that much I guess.

epazote was on my list, and we failed to order seeds in time. I'm curious about it; I've never had it, and you can't buy it around here, and my mexican books say it is essential to the flavour of some dishes.

Paul,

Dried is an OK substitute. If you don't have, I can bring you some when I come to Ottawa. I have a lot.

On second thought ... probably not. Coming from Oregon, bringing a vac-pac of dried green herbs to customs is probably a bad idea.

Glad to hear yours is doing well!

There are usually a lot of seeds in the dried epazote.

Dave,

Nice indoor starter setup you have there.
