What's everyone (or anyone) growing this season?

Just herbs -- but I just paid my CSA for the year so I'm going to enjoy feeling like a virtual gardener.

Pulled my first two tomatoes, and a handful of green beans yesterday, yellow squash should be ready in a couple of days.

Due to the unusually cool spring weather these past few weeks (after an unusually warm end to the winter) I've not been able to plant any veggies yet. The nurseries upstate still have them all in their greenhouses, trying to grow up! But at least last weekend I was able to buy 4" pots (and plant) cilantro (new this year), a new rosemary called BBQ Rosemary, chocolate mint (new this year), greek oregano and 2 sorrel plants (I was wrong about the summer savory - never had that!!). Hopefully this weekend I can buy/plant the veggies and other tender annual herbs like basil and parsley.

We had that problem of the warm March and early April, then it got cold, and we had frost advisories at the very end of April. That's why I told people not to plant the tomatoes, unless they were prepared to cover them.

I got most of my stuff in, except peppers. It is still forecast to be 49º for a low Thurs. & Fri., which is too cold - 55º should be the lowest low for them. So, next weekend...

Hmmm...I might PLANT some stuff this weekend. Stupid Northland....

My garden shall be a distant crisp memory in August...but alas, that is when I plant my fall garden.

I planted some San Marzano tomatoes for the first time. Don't expect a big enough crop to make sauce but wanted to try them nonetheless. Also several cherry tomatoes and a yellow plum. All in pots lining the driveway as we don't get enough sun any place else. Lots of basil, chives, a couple of rosemarys, some mint and I'm looking for some decent thyme and sage plants.

Ilene, have you a recipe for the ice cream? Sounds divine.

I am growing a bumper crop of dandelions and chickweed so far. Good news is that I eat them. Chickweed is really good in salads.

All I do is use a recipe for vanilla ice cream, but steep a cup of verbena leaves in the milk before continuing with the recipe....you can do that with any herb, but I am partial to verbena
