If you grow green beans, try haricots vert. Easy to grow, prolific and quick.

You have to watch broccoli closely. It can flower when quite small, unless it is really being "forced", which I rarely do. One good thing you can do is to cut the crowns off, then it will grow back more, though smaller, crowns.
