Just got an email from www.sousvidesupreme.com about a new chamber vacuum sealer they have. The price is still high ($800) but less than other models that I've seen. I'm going to save my pennies for now and hope it drops substantially in the next two years. Gerard |

Gerard, I looked at the one both you and Paul linked to, and I wasn't really all that impressed with it. It looks kind of flimsy relative to their other models. I bought this one which is a smaller version of the one we use at work. Amy |

The problem, for me, with the 210 is that I can't really deal with its size/weight. The smaller one I can put on a slide in a cabinet without losing all my space. I'm hoping to see a few reviews to see how well it works; I know for sure it is lighter duty, but it might "do". Well, at a lower price point. Ugh. We need a new player... |

I know what you mean Paul, but compared to the 320 (what we use at work), the 210 looks downright small! I too don't have the counter space for it, and I'm looking for just the right stainless trolley so it can eventually live in my pantry. Right now it's sitting on a milk crate next to my island. Not aesthetically pleasing, but works. Amy |

So, I expect to be in the position to buy a new chamber vac in a week or three (yay, contract looks like it will be renewed!). Have you been giving the 210 a good workout, and how happy are you with it? I'm tossed up largely between it and the 112 --- 112 has the vac port and wider capacity, but I don't *think* you could fit even small mason jars in it, but I understand the 210 can take 8 oz jars? OTOH, the 112 has the vac port if you don't mind doing a jar at a time ... oh, decisions, decisions. |

Love, love, love the 210. Highly recommend it. And, the trolley I bought is perfect for moving it out of the way into the pantry. I've not done jars. How is this supposed to work? Amy |

Sorry for the long response. Life took over for a bit. I've experimented with my VP210 (yay!) with jars and it works great. I put the lid on loosely; the air escapes during the vac phase and when it is let back in it seals. Tighten down and you get a vac'd jar. This is two part lids of course. |

You got the 210! Isn't it amazing? I'll have to try jars at some point this summer. Thanks for the info. Amy |
