At first glance I thought it was an exploded pressure cooker but that lid doesn't look like a PC lid.

Was it staged?

It is a reddit post about an exploded older pressure canner. :)

I showed the reddit post to my husband and he said "uh, when was the last time you had your pressure cooker calibrated." "Never." "Great."

The tops of stoves are very very strong. The amount of force required to collapse the top would do far more damage to the hood/ceiling (equal and opposite...) then shown here, not to mention the convenient sticking of the lid into the ceiling. Staged, but humorous.
