I dreamed a recipe in days gone by,
Where all the steps were so easy.
I didn't use every pan in the kitchen.
And all the steps were so easy.

But now the bow-tie comes at night,
With instructions long as novels.
"You must stir the roux with a wooden spoon.
Were you brought up in a barn?"

Seventy-six variations of the Mac-n-Cheese!
With a hundred and ten roasted turkeys right behind!
They were followed by loads and loads of "spicy" ethnic foods.
There were pound cakes of ev'ry shape and kind!

Egg whites! All alone in the work bowl!
They will deflate if,
You don't put cream of tartar in there!

JB,

Great lyrics! I had no clue, but my sweetie was able to identify all of the songs.

I'm imagining Ethel Merman singing those.

Hmmmm.

Death Of An Editor

The story of a self-reliant Vermonter, who built a business up from nothing, gets his own TV show, gets carried away, has an affair, goes bankrupt and loses everything. In the final scene, it's revealed that he's not even from Vermont.

I think it has potential!

You guys are way too clever for me, how about:

Wheeeeeeere the cooks are?
Someone grills for me
A steaming face, a warming sear
Two tongs to hold my loin tenderly

In the kitchen of a million people
I'll find my chef de cuisine
And then I'll climb to the highest steeple
And tell the world there's no fat, only lean

Till he braises me I'll wait impatiently
Where the cooks are, where the cooks are
Someone grills for me
