Some stuff to make the board more comprehensible:

The Top Menu Bar:

  • First is the link to the webchat, labeled Cooks Chat. Instuctions here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1805
  • See the PHPBB FAQ for technical questions on how to use the Board. That link is the FAQ link on the top of the screen.
  • Next to is is a link to your Private Messages. It will say "# new messages". Click it to read them.
  • Next to that is the Search link. Unlike some boards, the search covers everything.
  • The User Control Panel is where you choose your avatar, put in information about yourself, change your board settings, etc.

Special Forums

If you look across the top of the topics, right above General Information, you will see how to access new posts, unanswered posts, active topics (ones with more than 25 posts and recent activity), and your own posts.

Moderators and Administrators

Moderators have the ability to censor posts, approve them, ban spammers, edit posts, and split or delete topics.

Administrators can do all of the above, plus create or remove forums and edit people's user profiles as well as promoting them to moderator.

So, if you see a post which is offensive or spam, you should report it to a Moderator or on the Board Help forum. Requests for new forums should be reported on Board Help as well.

If you want to be a Moderator, either for the board in general or (preferably) for a specific forum, private message one of the Administrators.
