I was quite happy with this sandwich... Homemade everything: bread (via breadmaker), corned beef, pastrami, sauerkraut and mustard. I did have to use store bought cheese because I haven't gotten to that yet. ;)

Nice!

BTW, I've discovered that if you do cheese/saurkraut/mustard on rye, it tastes remarkably like a reuben even without the corned beef.

I like to make my own Rebubens essentially because those I've found in restaurants tend to be so heavy. I go light with the corned beef.

It was so good I bought another corned beef (super cheap at $2.99 a lb) and made more pastrami this Saturday!

Jean, I don't like corned beef or sauerkraut so always order/make a turkey reuben with coleslaw. I'm sure it's heresy but they still call it a reuben (usually with the word "California" in front of it ;).) However they're never as pretty as Lisa's.
