No California tomatoes either.
We've got a few Sungolds for $4/basket, and that's about it. The rest is all warehouse tomatoes, and "heirlooms" from Mexico which were picked green.

Finally enough basil to make pesto. Tomatoes still a long way off. So for dinner tonight it's pesto/penne salad with a good loaf of ciabatta and a nice glass of wine. Really looking forward to it. fitzie |

I have a while to wait for my tomatoes, too, and that is what I grow that basil for! Strangely, I usually get some ripe cherries around now, but none out there yet, and I have seven different varieties! Seems they are slow this year...maybe due to the eccess rain. |
