We have a store called the Blue Knight that sells overruns and out of date items etc. I was there a week ago and they had boxes and boxes of KAF mixes. They were priced at 99 cents a box and it was buy 2 get one Free. I bought the Sour Cream Coffee cake, the Malted Chocolate cupcakes and Cheesecake bars. I baked the coffee cake and the cupcakes and both of them were excellent. Their mixes are all natural and both items tasted like homemade. I went back and bought 12 more boxes for the price of 1 at their website. The mixes are a couple of months out of date, but that didn't effect the product at all. I am going to make the Cheesecake bars this weekend.

The Cheese Cake bars mixes are bad. I only have one left, so I will have to take it back.

Todd,

Sounds like the chance you take with overruns. Flour does get stale.

Did you get your money back?

I occasionally will buy some of the KAF mixes for muffins, scones, breads, etc. but only from KAF since I've never seen them sold as past the pull dates.
My luck has been very good with the ones I've tried and have gone back for seconds; they're nice to have on hand in a pinch.

I exchanged the bad mixes for two that were still in date which is very unusual for the Blue Knight. My replacements were the coffee cake which is excellent.
