All,

So we're staying in a rental house in Portland, which (appropriately enough) has a wide assortment of coffee paraphernalia, including a French press, a Francis Francis, a drip machine and a moka pot. And then there's this thing:

The thing inside of it looks kind of like a heating coil, but it would be completely exposed to any liquid inside. On the front, there's an Ikea diagram elegant in its complete opacity. It's made by nespresso. So, any ideas?

Also, if anyone can find me a guide to the Francis Francis X0 (that's right, before the X1), I'd be grateful. I'm not quite sure how to operate it properly.

It looks like an electric kettle.

A milk foamer! http://www.otest.co.uk/p/nespresso-test ... views.html

You can't have your Portland coffee with unfluffed milk.

I used to have an electric kettle and a soup tureen with the same type of coil. They both worked fine... until I boiled the kettle dry and cracked the soup tureen washing it. I miss that tureen. It was super handy.

Huh, how do you clean the coil thing? Seems like it would get cruddy with dried milk ...

For the soup tureen, I just let it soak and cleaned it with a brush.

My aerocino (sp?) is submersible and the coil thing comes off, I just wash the whole thing in the sink.
