All:

So much for "reservatrol"

Haven't read the study itself, of course; I don't have a JAMA subscription. I'll admit it confirms my biases -- I always figured that reservatrol was an invention of the Wine Marketing Group.

More importantly, now that it's no longer a nutrient, maybe I can snag "reservatroll.com" for the restaurant-reservation-spambot site I always wanted to build.

Hi,

A member of my Rotary club delivered a program on his rejuvenated body after increasing his dietary intake of reservatrol and pinot noir, gamay, garnacha, etc. He now runs half-marathons.

During questioning one of our members toasted Jerry with his glass of red wine (Yes, it is an evening club.) and asked why he didn't take reservatrol pills and skip those empty calories. We joined in the toast and booed the suggestion.

If you read closely you'll see that they stated that, while it doesn't seem to be the resveratol that is the beneficial substance in the red wine, it may be something else, such as other polyphenols in the wine. So you don't want to stop drinking the entire bottles if there still MAY be a benefit! LOL
