We're heading to Chicago in the morning (fri) any recomendations on places to eat Friday and Saturday for either lunch or dinner? We're staying downtown. But, will be driving in so have a car and don't mind a drive.
I know this is short notice, but we just decided yesterday. I will have the PC so can check in.
Thanks, Laurie

If you're wandering the Loop, Wow Bao at State and Lake is fast, tasty and cheap-ish. The Ogilvy Transportation Center has a new market, which you have to get to via the train platforms. but no ticket is required. The Belgian Frites are very tasty-that's over at Canal and Madison. Carson's Ribs on N. Wells is great-best ribs in town as far as I'm concerned. For a nifty dinner check out Han 202 at 605 W. 31st., 312.949.1314. They do 5 courses for 20 bucks and the menu changes seasonally. You have to call and make a reservation because the place is quite small. You can spend plenty of money and have fun at Tea in the Lobby of the Peninsula, at Superior and Rush. Give me a call for more detailed offerings- Becky

We had a great time in Chicago. Had a burger at Sopo, and an extrordinary meal at Mercat a topas restaurant. It was on Michigan ave. just accross the side-street from the Hilton were we stayed. That was great as we didn't need to fight for parking, and didn't feel like going far after a long day of site seeing. The meal really was exceptional, although pricy. But not much about Chicago isn't these days. Since we were celebrating our 35th anniversary and my 29th...birthday, we didn't mind one special dinner out.
We did go to Evanston to the Spice House to get some more of their Millwakee Iron seasoning and a few other spices. We went to the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Conservatory, both a great way to spend an afternoon.
All in all a great weekend getawy. Thanks all for the sugestions.
