Amy Amy, Yes in spades! You the difficulty of financing, staffing and promoting a restaurant; yes, 88 hour weeks are normal. His chef/partner, Tyler Kord is the perfect partner for Matt, gifted and driven to create wonderful food. Matt has evolved into an excellent business manager. Not many NYC restaurants automate their payroll; "where do I get a social security number?". He has learned to hire, fire, reorganize, negotiate, and close a business while maintaining friendships. He now has investors asking him to develop new ventures. I am especially proud of his gutsy wine list with wonderful unusual and moderately priced wines. Link to No. 7 Wine List How about an Oregon Albarino, two white grenache/garnaxta, and all the varietals to satisfy us ABC wine drinkers. Now if the Badgers win tomorrow, life will be complete. Tim

Tim Tim, You, along with my BIL and both my cousins, did not get your New Year's wish. Alas.... One of my favorite weekends ever was a family reunion we held in Madison during homecoming. We are a football family. Amy

Very nice Tim! I'm going to have to try those Double Decker Broccoli Tacos...sounds really good. And, I thought I was the only person who liked balsamic mayo with fries. Amy

Hmmmm, balsamic mayo. Who'da thunk? We love mayo with our fries. Will have to experiment with this. Fitzie

Nice review Tim, you must be busting buttons all over the place.
Mary
PS I think I would dip anything in balsamic mayo.

Congrats on the great review Tim! Again, I need to get there.
Just thought I would add that Russ (DH) has lunch at the Ace 1x/week. I know you don't know Russ but believe me, that's saying something (He is a man of very few rituals) Nance

Another mention of No. 7 in the NY Times. 36 Hours in BrooklynQuote: Fort Greene abounds in bars suitable for a late-evening drink. A cocktail at the minimalist and homey No. 7, is no risk (7 Greene Avenue at Fulton Street; 718-522-6370; no7restaurant.com). Those seeking rougher charms can venture to the Alibi (242 DeKalb Avenue between Clermont Avenue and Vanderbilt Avenue), where there are cheap drinks, a pool table and a crowd that runs equal parts artist and laborer.
