Is there anyone with information for this part of Connecticut or close by? My inlaws just relocated there from TN for a couple of years.

My brother lives in CT, further north. I have a friend that lives in New Haven. I really like Ct, good rail connections, easy to get to NY. Worlds best pizza in New Haven, the name is escaping me at the moment. Very good food all around. Also very nice hiking and parks, nice beaches, beautiful lakes. Rural, but quite sophisticated due to its proximity to NYC. Are you looking specifically for food information or other stuff too? I can shoot my friend Sarah and my brother a note. I will be there in Sept so will look around then too.

All of it. That'd be great! I'm interested in the best way/timing to get into NY, as I never got to visit them when they were there.

Might it be New Haven Pizza?

The Definitive Guide to New Haven Pizza

Quote:
Three families bequeathed New Haven with a hat trick of Italian American pizza parlors and a legacy that inspires imitation. Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana, known simply as Pepe's, was the first to open on Wooster Street in 1925, Modern Apizza opened on State Street in 1934, followed by Sally's Apizza on Wooster Street in 1938. As pizzerias come and go, none have risen to the level of these big three, although a few notable spots come close, such as the new kid Bar.

Pepe's! Trains and busses all over to get to NY. I prefer the train. I think about an hour from New Haven. Will let you know what I find out.
