High degree of caution is a relatively low level in Canada; for example, Mexico rates it, though they note the tourist areas are reasonably safe. Canada is wildly safe, so we tend to be cautious  In Indonesia, they currently only flat out recommend against Papua (violence) and Mount Sinabung (nature issues). There has been more recent issues in Bali, but pretty sporadic.

It's been a long time too for me since I visited Hawaii. These are some of the things/activities which were memorable. What's nice about Hawaii is that it's part of the 50 -- you can drink the water! Have a good trip. Mount Haleakala Road to Hana volcanic activity on Hawaii (is this still happening?) Poipu beach (bring a bag of frozen peas to feed the fish while snorkeling, stay shallow though) fresh fruit whatever is in season, amazingly tasty visit an orchid farm drink kona coffee (I guess that's not really that special anymore...) |

I am starting to believe I am actually going. My suitcase is packed, in any case. And, Ivy, I loved the coffee in Hawaii. Funny story, we visited a coffee plantation in Kuaii and when I told the manager I was from Zug, Switzerland he became very excited as all the coffee in Hawaii is traded through here. Mary |
