Folks,

I realize it's kind of last-minute, but I'll be in Vancouver the rest of the week (Tuesday-Saturday). I'm pretty sure someone on the Board lives there. No?

Jenny does. Didn't you meet her last time you were up there?

ditto what Amy said. PM me if you need jenny's email.
I went here years and years ago and really liked it: http://www.digitalmarketingbox.com/webt ... u_2012.pdf
It wasn't labelled as a "spaghetti joint" back then but I like the look of the menu and if they are as fresh focused as when I was there it's a good bet. I still make the ribollitta soup that I had there.
Vancouver is the best place in Canada for sushi from what I understand. And you can get that monkey coffee somewhere there, no?

Thanks!

Yes, I have Jenny's email.

Since I come from SF, sushi isn't as much of a draw ... although if anyone has specific recommendations, please post.

And yet no one ever comes to Toronto. Not that I'm complaining.

A few years ago I had a great meal at Khunnai Chang Thai on Denman Street (which is up by Stanley Park). Cactus Club Cafe (a casual chain associated with Rob Feenie) also had pretty good food, despite feeling like a chain restaurant (it's much like an Earl's in style). I also had really good takeout chicken curry from a small divey place by the waterfront (it was near the Westin on Bayshore), but I can't remember the name of the place. West, Lumiere, and Vij's also all have good reputations, but were too $$$ for conference fare for me to try. The food market at Granville Island also had a lot of tasty options. I made a great picnic lunch from stuff purchased there.

Frank,

Nuba's was ok (Nouvelle Lebanese), I'd recommend it. Boneta sucked. I recommend the Delta Vancouver Suites as a place to stay; they're not kidding about the "suite" (mine is like 300sqft), and $130/night on AAA discount. Will post more if I find anything.

I stayed here and really really enjoyed the hotel and the location. Not sure if they had suites but at the time I went for work it was cheaper than any of the chains. http://www.thelistelhotel.com/
Location can't be beat if you are working in the downtown Vancouver area.
