See also my thread in Meetups.

Looking for dinner recommendations in Center City. The TripAdvisor reviews are high for Vernick on Walnut Street - almost too good...

I haven't been to Philly for a long time. Last time I was there I stayed at the Thomas Bond House, which was a lovely B&B near the City Tavern (don't go there unless you really have to see 18th century-costumed waitstaff). I looked for the nearby diner that was the inspiration for my pancakes, but alas it seems to have vanished.

Googling for diners did bring me to this one that maybe you should visit: Little Pete's...

I went ahead and made a reservation at Vernick for Friday night (but I can change it from 2 people to 3 if you're coming, Darcie :) ).

Looks like Little Pete's is about 5 blocks from our hotel.

Hope to see you. Have you been in touch with Marilyn? Maybe she could join us also. :D

Check into Destrito. Maybe not exactly center city, but really good Jose Andres.

Jose Garces perhaps? I thought Jose Andres was Spanish but not Mexican.

 Yep Garces. I originally put his name down and then changed it. Sheesh! He has a bunch of restaurants in Philly that get great reviews. Distrito is in university city.
