Frank, check the Orlando thread, there may be something there. We will be in F Lauderdale in march for a day on either end of our cruise.

I forget where we ate a couple of years ago, but that's probably not a bad thing.

#1 on Tripadvisor is Mario's Catalina Restaurant. http://www.catalinarestaurant.net/

I found the thread and this
Quote:
Hi jeanf,
My friend in F.L. responded. She gave two recommendations. Serafina and Sublime. Now my friend is a Florentine and she swore by the food at Serafina. That being said, I checked out the Yelp reviews, which I take with a grain of salt, and they are mixed but they do sound like the place is an authentic European restaurant. If you've ever been to Europe then you'll understand what I mean here. I would absolutely give it a go. It's on the water. Sounds delicious.

Sublime is a Vegan restaurant. Same for Yelp reviews. Sounds interesting. I also looked at a review for Riverside Market which sounds fun. The 500 craft beers were enough to catch my attention.

This is from aceben, but I don't think he's been around lately.

The Floridian on LasOlas is good for a casual meal. There are also other restaurants on LasOlas that you might want to check into while you are there. LasOlas gets busy at night with foot traffic because of all the restaurants and bars.

While I've never eaten at any of her restaurants, one of my oldest friends is the Executive Chef of a restaurant group in Florida. They have a place in Ft. L called Rocco's Tacos. If you go, let me know how you like it. She won't be there, she's based in Orlando, but I'd love to give her feedback on your impressions.

We ate at Rocco's on Las Olas last January. They make guacamole at your table which we ordered and liked. Mark had a combo plate of some sort and I had the tacos. I don't remember us really liking or disliking the food other than the Guacamole.
