Although it is our favorite city in Canada and we visit every 5 years or so, we are open to something we don't know about but should. I HAVE A LIST - as a favorite Congressman once bellowed - and we know all of the usual site suggestions - but still and all we continue to seek.

What say ye? :D

My babe is doin' the 1/2 marathon on Sunday; it's supposed to be one of the 10 best in North America so we shall report back :!:

Wino, no suggestions, just a huge helping of envy as I also love Quebec City. One of my favourite memories was staying in a hostel there on a weekend while doing a program 2 hours north in Trois Pistoles. We walked out of the hostel, up to the wall where the old city starts and had breakfast in a tiny place where the coffee was served in bowls and the crepes were made to order. The chef stood in the middle and you sat around him at various tables. As it was 1989 even if I could remember the name I'm not sure it would still be there.
Have fun and cheer loud!

Last time we were there Kathy did not share my culinary anthropology interest (poutine) so I did without.

'Doin' without' is not my modus operandi...

We just had a FABULOUS 'lunch' (2 PM) at the a hotel called Palais Royale (just outside of the gates to 'old town' (a UNESCO World Heritage site, btw) in their main dining area: she had beef tartare and I had salmonn tartare for openers and then she had crab stuffed mushrooms in a cheese sauce while I had their famous fish chowder (smoked salmon, very large shrimp, 3 clams, 3 mussles, 2 other fish pieces in a fantastic sauce) all washed down with a 2008 Pouilley-Fuisse. Linen, china, silver, proper glasses... - for lunch!

Now we'll walk it off before catching an evening of Cirque de Soleil and another light show - hot summer night on the weekend. :!: :D

Oh yeah, the mushroom dish was $7, both tartares about $11 each and the chowder $14. The wine was $62 but Quebec has the highest liquor prices in North America... :(

The quest continues. 8-) :o  ;)
