All,

Anyone been there? Recommendations on eats, and on markets (we're renting a cabin)?

Bump.

Will be there in less than 2 weeks, though I'd try one more time for recommends ...

So, back.

Rapid City isn't on anyone's culinary destination list, unless you're really into buffalo meat. I think we made the right decision renting a cabin and grilling most of our own meals.

That being said, there were a few surprisingly good places I'd recommend:

  • Tally's Silver Spoon, for brunch,
  • The Jordanian booth at the Saturday Farmer's Market (really)
  • Dakota Thyme for lunch
  • Meadowood Links Bar & Grill (low-end restaurant on a golf course)

On the other hand, I'd recommend against The Wine Cellar, which has the slowest table service in the Midwest.

I'd also strongly recommend the cabins we stayed at, in the Lake Park Campground & Cottages. More detailed reviews on Yelp.
