We have a 6 hour layover in Milwaukee in mid-January. Anyone know of any place not to far from the airport good to eat, shop or sight see? That's a long freakin time to set in an airport....I don't think they make enough booze for that  .

The airport isn't far from the Art Museum, which has some nice stuff and is very interesting as architecture.

Laurie,

It would be worth the time to go downtown river east. The Art Museum is a must and there are some fun food opportunities.

If you you like great German food, Karl Ratchz's is an old-line treasure. There are also great brewpubs, sausage stores, an excellent Cuban restaurant, an English pub.

On your way downtown or back to Billy Mitchell Field, stop at Kopp's custard for real Wisconsin custard.
