Yeah, not the same thing.
Anyway, we'll be in Pacific Grove on the Monterrey Peninsula for Thanksgiving weekend. We already have a big list of where to eat and see, but places we might not have heard of are always welcome.
Also, I will be in Boston the first week of December. Does anyone on the Board live there? Can someone recommend a really good Italian restaurant downtown?

Kate lives there. I think Amy lived there for a while, Lindsay can probably help too.

I'd rely on Kate and Lindsay for Boston recommendations...it's been way too long since I lived there.
TLC Tim lived in Monterrey for a long time.

I love Gayle's in Capitola (Bay/Porter street exit off of hwy 1) for breads, prepared foods and exceptional baked goods. She and her husband wrote books: The Village Baker's Wife (which I use a lot...great banana cake and key lime pie recipes among others) and The Village Baker.
Fun Mexican restaurant near Rio Del Mar : Zuniga's which is at a small airport so you can see the small planes. Last I went the food was really good, but it's been awhile.
I may be in Carmel, visiting relatives for Thanksgiving. Not sure yet. There's a good Italian restaurant in Carmel. I'll try to find the name for you.
Take care

Fuzzy, The North End is the Italian capital of Boston. It's a short taxi ride or a nice walk depending on how cold it is from the financial district (Downtown). Not sure where you will be. We don't eat often in the North End unless we are there for an event and when we do we nosh on plates of calamari and then wander down the street for cannolis. Boston Mag just published The 50 Best restaurants edition -- for the north end: Carmen, 33 North Sq, Neptune Oyster (Best of Boston 2011 winner) 63 Salem St, Ristorante Fiore, 250 Hanover St. All are $$$ which is defined as entries between $22-$30.
On Beacon Hill a wonderful (mostly) Italian restaurant is Scampo. It's in the Liberty Hotel which used to be a jail.

We discovered Neptune during the CI Boston meet. Went back in 2010 during a cruise port call (had to wait a bit as it was early on a Sunday afternoon). Only problem was it was way too easy to drop $50 or so on oysters.

Goofy picture, but there wasn't much light -- had a wonderful time with Fuzzy -- and if anyone else comes to Boston, please let me know. Love to get together.
