Looking for everyone's second-favorite recommendation for Brooklyn NY. We all know what our favorite one is...

Lunch near 3rd Ave & Union Street; looks like we're about 3/4 mile or one MTA stop from No. 7.

I expect we'll drop in on Matt for dinner...

Was just there. We loved this place: http://www.frankiesspuntino.com/. Great Italian food. I had the polenta and I still dream of it. We also at Morton's Steak House. It is a steak house. Good yet more expensive than you ever want it to be. If you want a quick meal try http://www.bergenbagel.com/. Fantastic bagels with anything you could want in them. They just have a couple tables so you Also just down the street from my daughter's school so you can run in and see if she is making any trouble.

Have a great trip. Next time I plan to make it to No. 7.

We ate at Lupa in greenwich village (another Batali place). It was great! I keep meaning to go to the Baked bakery in Red Hook when I go east. Haven't made it yet. Have a great time! (I'm sure Matt will have suggestions)

Thanks, Mare, we ended up walking over to Frankie's (because we're so fit) and it was worth it. The fact that it's a glorious fall day after the crap weather we've been experiencing helps a lot as well. I had the gnocchi and K had the polenta.

Not sure we have room for dinner (it was a late lunch).

Glad you enjoyed it and glad you got the polenta so I can think about it again. It is also a nice neighborhood to mill about in.
