Gonna land around 6:30PM Have been here twice before. Wife is gonna do the 1/2 marathon for an arthritis research charity (over 3 years she has raised about $51,000 and the goal is $100,000) and I'm gonna pour another Bailey's & coffee and cheer her on. We'd be stayin' in the Lahaina area initially, then Hana for 4 days, and then back to Kanapali. Suggestions, advice, & admonitions gladly reviewed though not necessarily obeyed!

At least you'll be drinking your Bailey's and coffee from a coconut, right?

We stayed in Lahaina area 12 years ago. However, I had major nausea (11 weeks pregnant at the time) so food was not a priority. I do remember that the grocery store had great fried chicken.
Assuming you've done the Hana trail, if not, it is fantastic. We bought the map and audio tape that tells you when to stop and found it bang on with regards to timing and loved all the "hidden" things we got to see, like the black beach.

Shave ice at the rainbow place in Kihei. Guava and passion fruit is/are great flavors.
Lime, coconut, rum...what could be bad?
