I'm unexpectedly taking a trip to Dallas next week.

(1) nobody on the board is from Dallas, are they?

(2) is there anything worth eating in Dallas which doesn't involve meat?

I'm not, but my sister lives in that area...I rarely visit and they tend to be chain-restaurant people :P

Fuzzy, I asked some friends in the Houston area that go to and or work in the Dallas area where you might like to go to eat. Here are their sugestions:

New Start Korean restaurant-Vegan
Cosmic Cafe
Mansion on Turtle Creek
Mimi's Cafe for the quiche and corn chowder-she said this one's a chain, but her favorite for the quiche and chower.

Laurie,

Thanks!

It's annoying I'm going to the one city in Texas where I don't know anyone.

That really does suck. One of the girls husband works in Dallas and commutes. One week home, one in Dallas and comes home weekends. It's a short flight and his company pays for it, including the hotel. If you like I can see if he is in Dallas next week and is available for dinner. He is a meat and potato's man though....you know TX is all about big steaks.

Laurie,

Thanks, but I think I'll work instead. It's brutally hot in Texas right now anyway. I'll want to stay in the hotel.
