All three of these are Great while in Phoenix, I especially like Quiessence. Reserve the brick oven, or one of the fire pit tables outside if the evening heat is bearable.

Edit to add...crud, they are closed for the summer.

Teds Hotdogs are good! http://www.roadfood.com/Restaurant/Over ... s-hot-dogs

There is a 50's style diner in between the two one way roads in Williams, AZ...don't bother. I have not found a good meal there yet.

Mary,

Look up our itinerary for the Cleveland meetup, if you can find it on the old board. I don't seem to have anything about it on my blog, unfortunately.

I really need to make a US Cookaholics tour.
Frank, those dogs look great!
In Williams I found this, which looks like fun even if the food is not stellar: http://www.thesingingpigroute66.com/index.html.
Otherwise it looked like an Arby's wasteland (or perhaps "waist" land?).
I will check out the Cleveland thread although I have been there twice now and good food has never been a problem as well as THE most awesome cocktail place I have ever been to. http://www.velvettangoroom.com/ They make all their mixers, bitters, etc. and you feel like you are stepping back in time.

Thanks Pete, a search for Cleveland turned up just about nothing.

Looks like we'll be passing you in Cleveland. We'll be in the area 22-24 July. Maybe we will have a little overlap and could meet for some ice cream in Chagrin Falls...

Ack....we'll be around the New London CT area around the 29th or so, we did the CT/RI thing a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it, I'm an ocean girl at heart. Had pizza at Mystic Pizza just because I loved the movie. And had burgers at Five Guys, which we love. Don't really remember anything else though.
