Have a free place to stay there, so we're off to the beach prior to going to NY. Anyone have recommendations?

I don't want to put you off, but DH and I call Myrtle Beach "Beckley-by-the-Sea." (Beckley being a small coal mining town in WV). It seems to be the #1 destination of hillbillies on vacation. Thus, I am afraid I have no recommendations.

"F R E E" is what we're dealing with, and if I only make it between the condo and the beach, I'll just be happy to see the ocean again.

If I were there I would be looking for a good low country boil...maybe Duffy St. Seafood Shack 202 Main St, North Myrtle Bch, SC? It's got hit & miss reviews but is a place I would probably try... http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s ... google.com

we went years ago and I only remember chains. And Krispy Kreme donuts. we had a kitchenette for breakfasts and lunches. Ate at my first Cracker Barrel on the way to Mrtle Beach. Great breakfasts there!

Thankfully, we'll be staying at my FIL's condo, so I'll probably end up doing much of the cooking. It'll be soft-shell crab season, and I plan on gorging myself on them while there, as I can't get them live in Colorado.

Maybe you should be asking where the good grocery stores are.
