Will get there very late Sunday, leave @ 5:00PM Monday, perhaps a good lunch place near the airport? :P

Dude, I'd love to help you, but we never get out to eat. I know a couple of places in Southfield, one soul food and one Seoul food -- Beans and Cornbread and New Seoul Garden, respectively.

P.S. I'd love to just invite you over, but we live in a sardine can that is packed to the hilt with Geekanalia and baby equipment. It takes me at least a week to bull-doze it all into a corner so people can walk around.

I haven't lived down that way for 9 years so I'm no help either. I used to know a place or two. If I wasn't 4 hours north I'd have you here for dinner. If you play your cards right you can eat your way accross the country and meet peeps all at the same time! :D

Maybe Todd knows of some place.

Laurie

Thanks, not much time there, of the 18 hrs in town I hope at least 6-7 are spent sleeping. Looking at several resaurants, perhaps you have heard of?
Beirut
Baldo's
Captain Nemo's Sandwiches
Romulus House
Orchard Grove Inn
Pete's Place (Not that Pete) ;)

I have flown in and out of Metro hundreds of times over the years, and really can't think of any stand out food nearby. What part of town will you be in? You're only about 20 minutes from Ann Arbor to the west, Northville to the north or the city to the east. Any of them offer much to choose from.

If you're really stuck near the airport, I'd probably choose Beirut from your list - primarily due to the location. It's probably pretty authentic. There is a huge Lebanese population in that area.

SS,

Given the quick nature of this trip I will stay very close to the airport and will not even rent a car. I'll use the airport shuttle to get me from airport to hotel and back for a 9:00AM Monday meeting on airport property, I will be a passenger for lunch but will have input regarding location. I leave Detroit on a 5:00 PM flight...so...very little time to explore. I have friends in Ann Arbor that won't even know I'm in town.

Frank,
Sorry I can't help you out with anything close to the airport.
