Frank,

So per our Chat the Wawona in Yosemite would be your best choice if it was open in March (it's not). The Awhanee in Yosemite is also superb but $$$$$.

Here's what looks interesting from Yelp (I've never been to any of these places, or even the town of Fresno at all, really):

Day 1,

Late lunch, got here about 1, got car & hotel then got to Diana's Classic Armenian Cuisine abt 3:00
http://www.yelp.com/biz/dianas-classic- ... ine-fresno

Incredible! Started with Hummus & pita, it was the best I have had. Then had the LuLu Kabob, could cut the meat easily with a fork, tasty and tender, the bulgar rice was very good! Ended with a Napolean and a cup of hot Turkish tea...all is well... :)

This is a small place in a strip center tasfully decorated, it had 8 tables and could seat 30 maxed out the dining room was 12' wide and 30' long, the daughter of the owner (and cook) started me off and was very pleasant, engaging, and informative. She had to leave but said "Dad will take care of you." he did. I was the only one in the place and he came out of the kitchen and we talked, he was rightfully very proud of his place, he left Persia (Iran) 11 years ago and proudly said he opened the restaurant six years ago, he toi was ver engaging and informative, proudly prolamed all his food was very, very, fresh.

Glad you had a nice time and are bullet-hole free. Armenians are called Fresno Indians there. But it still has become quite dangerous there.
