We'll be in downtown Long Beach (harbor area) in about a week and a half for one night. Probably won't have a car. Any suggestions for a casual lunch dinner?

Probably would opt for dinner at the Queen Mary but the TripAdvisor reviews aren't stellar.

Stay in your room, lock the door, wait for daylight! What the hell did you do to deserve this? Try the TripAdvisor Traveler Forum: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g32648-i340-Long_Beach_California.html

I used to work there as a deck hand decades ago, I'm sure it's improved. still, it's main reason for being is not that glamorous. Wish I could help more.

Pete,

Haven't been to Long Beach in 22 years, and did not have any memorable meals even then (I think I went to In-and-Out for a double-cheese-no-meat).

It's not the kind of place you visit intentionally. I was there picking up my new management uniform for Mrs Field's Cookies.

Any updates on Long Beach?
Gotta run out there next week. I'll be around the airport area but will travel as far as needed for a good meal! :)

What part of the previous mentions for this topic did not get into your cognitive center?
Order in, fool! Take 2 sandwiches. Have the taxi do a McD run for ya.
Got it!!??

Feeling the love here...Is it just me or did you just happen to crawl into a bottle last evening?

Probably better options than one of my upcoming destinations...Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Doubt that I'll get any feed back on that one.
Perhaps I should say: على وشك أن في خليج جوانتانامو أي اقتراحات بشأن أين يمكن العثور على وجبة جيدة؟

Actually Frank, as fate would have it, I used to live on Gitmo. My dad was in the Navy and I had a grand time. Great fresh fruit and fantastic sea food. I remember being invited to a goat roast that the Jamaican workers invited us too. There was also a nightclub on the base that had a Spanish singer I was madly in love with. When he sang Georgie Girl, he looked right into my 10 year old soul.
