Anyone have suggestions for fine Southern dining?

You know, you need to stop going to all these "hoity-toity" cities and get yourself to some real American towns.

I never heard of it either before yesterday...But...I never heard of Stevens Point either but sure got a lot of good input from there.

I have found that you can find BIG surprises in small towns. I can't believe that I stumbled across the Spruce Goose in McMinnville, OR. Never hurts to ask.

According to the Sterns, there's a great burger to be had 13 miles away at Phillips Grocery.

I'm sure you could find SOMEthing in Memphis, if all else fails.

Frank, don't know where this is in relation to Hattisburg, but my hubby just said he doesn't recommend anything around there. So forewarned. While I'm sure there are many wonderful home chefs there, he said that every restaurant was "all you can eat" style and all fried foods.
