So, apparently I'm cooking for a pride party tonight.

What can I make? Anything with rainbows is going to be, let's face it, not edible unless it's the Rainbow Cake. Other ideas?

Anyone already make something for Pride? What?

I don't think there is any emblematic queer food. Strange, maybe and weird, but not queer. So just make something really tasty.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure if such a thing as a quintessential gay food existed, I would have heard of it by now. Queer eye had a cocktail that was vodka, club soda, and enough cranberry juice to turn it pink. They dubbed it "Gay Kool-Aid."

You could just prepare a food for every color of the rainbow and arrange them in Roy G. Biv order. Festive and nutritious!

Pasta Salad using Tri-Color Rotini? You can add veggies that replicate portions of the rainbow - red pepper, carrots, yellow tomatoes, green pepper, (blue?) eggplant.

I thought of the obvious, fruit salad, yellow cantaloup or mango, red watermelon, strawberries or raspberries, blueberries, kiwis, oranges or clementine. and purple dyed mini marshmallows  or purple grapes.

With Nancy's idea you can also use purple potatoes or cauliflower, even red onions are often more purple than red. There are always blue corn chips. I wonder if a few blueberries would turn water blue to dye potatoes?

I love the snarky Scalia's Tears recipe, but who would actually want to drink it?
