The Downton meal sounds wonderful. Did you use frozen fruit for the trifle? You've inspired me to dig out my English cookbooks. I've not cooked from them in a log time, but there are some wonderful recipes in them. |

[quote="Cubangirl"]The Downton meal sounds wonderful. Did you use frozen fruit for the trifle? Alina, I was able to get fresh strawberries , raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. I macerated half of each overnight and then mixed together with the remaining fresh. I had a few layers of pastry cream mixed with whipped cream and one layer of lemon curd. For each layer of pound cake, I drizzled the slices with Grand Marnier. I read 4 different recipes then concocted my own. It was all topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit |

Thanks, that sounds wonderful. Great idea about the Grand Marnier (I love to add it to anything I can, almost like bacon in my book). |
