Anyone making anything fun?

Thanks!

Dunno about fun. Made skirt steak marinated in Adobo from Truly Mexican, which was fantastic. Will definitely make again. For actual thanksgiving we had a pre-made meal from a local place that was actually pretty good. We'll use them again for meals which aren't eat out, but we aren't in the mood/too tired/no time to cook.

I have a turkey in the oven stuffed with my mom's rice stuffing, which she made and my sister, who loves it, dropped off. I personally don't care for it, so have a crock pot of bread stuffing going. Adding some roasted asparagus and glazed carrots and carting the whole kit and caboodle down to my parent's place for lunch. My sister made a sweet potato/pecan dish, my mom made a sort of veal parmigianna, cranberry sauce, twice baked potatoes and brussel sprouts.
Oh, and I made an apple pie with Kenji's recipe based on recommendations from Amy and Ilene, with half lard and half butter and using northern spy apples (picked on Saturday) in the filling. It looks gorgeous.
And my sister made homemade Flakies, which if you live here you'd know them as cooked puff pastry squares split with a smear of jam and pastry cream inside. And a store bought pumpkin pie.
We will be stuffed!

We had dinner at my MIL's. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, salad, rolls, rice, meatballs in gravy, and sex in a pan for dessert. All very tasty. I miss hosting, but my SIL's kids are small (3 yrs, and 7 months) and it's just easier to be where the toys are (and where I don't have to worry about the path of destruction which follows them). 2 kids, a Doberman, and a min-pin makes for a lively crew! I have learned to wear casual, stain resistant clothing!

Bought a condo for my aging MIL and spent the weekend cleaning and setting it up - food? Grabbed whatever we were passing by between here, there, and everywhere. Got 'er done though, so, Champagne & popcorn should suffice! ;)

Do Americans not have sex in a pan? It's a frozen layered dessert made in a 9x13 pan: shortbread cookie crust topped with layers of chocolate pudding, whipped cream and grated chocolate, and then frozen. Sometimes it has a cream cheese layer too. You thaw it slightly before serving. It's also known as "better than sex cake", and my MIL calls it Robert Redford cake (as in "better than...."). It's a 70's thing.

American "girth" has severely limited this activity.

Perhaps the lasagna pan Amy referred to in earlier post would work. We will need to get Tim an Jim to come to an agreement regarding clad vs. non clad. stainless, aluminum, cast iron, handles or not, etc. 8-)

I'm thinks a washtub would be better than a pan...

Wino...your "up"...
