So, having decided on Greek, I'm trying to put a menu together. I thought y'all would appreciate seeing the spreadsheet I put together to cross-reference recipe ideas:

What's weird is that it appeared right-side-up when I first viewed your post.

Do you have gremlins?

Amy

Edited to add: And, I just looked at the post on my iPad and it's the correct orientation. Bizarre...

Fuzzy,

The menu options look great, but I'm suspecting that you will need to cull like mad unless you are feeding an army of hungry Greeks. The dips alone would be dinner for a crowd!

No, that's my list of options. Dinner will actually be:

  • Home-made pita
  • 2 or 3 dips
  • A fish dish

Plus three of the following four types of dishes:

  • A savory pie
  • A salad
  • A starchy side
  • A non-starchy side

But I have to choose from that what I actually want to make.

OK, figured out menu (finally). Partly I'm limited by constraints on the fish I can get; apparently it's a bad week for fish in Medford. So, shrimp; we're having a meze meal.

Homemade pita bread with 3 dips:

  • Pumpkin-chestnut-olive dip
  • Pistacio-crusted saganaki
  • Tomato-caper spread

Meze meal:

  • Three-cheese and spinach phyllo pies
  • Shrimp and crab with peppers
  • Fassolakia (stewed green beans)

Dessert:

Pumpkin-mascarpone-gingersnap parfait
