Maternal grandpa was full-blooded Norwegian. Grandma, his wife, hated the stuff. I learned to like it early on through my German paternal grandma. My dad and I were the only ones in our immediate family who would eat it though. In Minnesota (this time of the year) they still have lutefisk dinners at the churches and I regularly partake. The dinners consist of lutefisk, swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, rutabaga, lingon/cran/berries, lefse and the Norwegian pastries (rosettes, krumkake, etc).

Deb, all:

Oddly enough, for Christmas Morning our tradition is to have bagels & lox. We started this around 10 years ago when I first started making bagels, and it's stuck as a tradition.

I suppose really we should have bagels & lox on January 2, for the bris. ;-)
