Cookies, hot chocolate mix, and fresh marshmallows. I might do Marilyn's toffee and/or mini cranberry-nut breads if time and finances allow.

If anyone is looking for a cute party favour idea, I recently stuck marshmallows (sadly not homemade) onto a lollipop stick and dipped into melted caramel (pennie's), let it harden and then dipped into melted chocolate, then threw on a few quinns for colour. I put a small candy bag over the marshmallow and tied with the silver bands that came with the bags, but Christmas coloured pipe cleaners would be nice too. I handed them to the hockey team kids as they were leaving our kickoff party and they were a great hit. I'm hoping to do them for Christmas Eve at a friends, and stick them in a vase or something.

I thought it was some kind of Canadian slang for "sprinkle."

Sorry, I thought that was a common term. Here the shaped sprinkles, i.e. halloween ghosts, christmas trees, are labelled as quinns. Like these: http://www.confectioneryhouse.com/edibl ... kles-quins

Maybe they have one n. I don't know. Regular sprinkles would work, or hundred and thousands too. And in case that's a term not familiar, those are the tiny round multicoloured sprinkles.

Oh heck, just use sprinkles. ;-)

Well, I guess I'm glad you won't be able to make any!

j/k, too funny to let slide

I haven't even begun to think about making gifts. This year may be a bust. I'd like to do the mustard thing but don't know if I can get my act together in time.

Too funny! I didn't even catch that typo :) I'm glad not to be making crud, too.
