So, just worked out a menu:

  • Layered Berber Flatbread
  • Moroccan Country Bread (whole wheat/semolina)
  • Fatima's Fingers (cheese cigars)
  • Roasted Carrot Puree with Feta
  • Roasted Beet Salad with Cinnamon
  • Fish Tagine with Creamy Onion Charmoula
  • Om Ali (filo pasty pudding)

Should be interesting, whatever happens. I've actually managed to pull in recipes from 5 different cookbooks, which I think is a personal best.

Maybe a Belgian pale ale or and American red one?

Looks great, and I think a hard cider would be perfect

All,

Anyone else? Surely someone has an interesting menu they're putting together ...

How are y'all dealing with the gluten-free vegans and paleodieters at the table?

Just the two of us—family coming at Christmas—so nothing exciting, but just butterflied the turkey so the skin can dry out in the refrigerator, and am very proud that I can still cut the backbone and wishbone out of a turkey with just scissors - haven't gotten too old yet to wrestle the little critter into submission.

Thanksgiving at our house is traditional, so I don't have much interesting to say: Turkey (brined and air dried), stuffing, mashed potatoes, bourbon maple mashed sweet potatoes, canned corn, steamed green beans, fresh rolls, two kinds of cranberry and two pies.
