no one has reported their menu!! I'm doing the spatchcocked turkey with Cranberry Molasses Glaze, twice baked bourbon pecan sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, dressing in the c/p, CI's green bean casserole and waldorf salad.

What's on your menu??

Sweet potatoes
Green vegetable, not made by me

KSS: "spatchcocked"? You sure this is suitable for a family event?

Kurt, no wonder you have no time to post on the board.

Our menu is much more limited:

Appetizer: Jiffy-pop Shrimp

Salad: Beet, mandarin and pecan salad

Main Course: Halibut with creole sauce
Cranberry relish
PG-13 Rice with Mirlton

Dessert: double-chocolate brioche bread pudding with salted caramel sauce

... of course, there's only 4 of us.

We are going to my friend Susan's (she of the mashed potatoes in the meat grinder) for the weekend. I think there will be a little over 20 this year. I am in charge of sweet potatoes and sugar cookies because I bought leaf cookie cutters. This is my cooking club group so it is a pretty good feed.

I am making a sweet potato casserole from CI but am very interested in those twice baked ones if you care to share the recipe.

Today I am missing my mom's overcooked turkey and excellent pumpkin pie. Have a wonderful day.

Mary

Going to my friend Cathy's and she is a very traditional Iowa girl....substantial and good, but nothing fancy.
I am taking: CI's coconut cream pie
Uncle Joe's pumpkin pie (with Kenji's vodka crust)
No knead sourdough bread and herb butter.

Hope everyone has a lovely feast
Ilene

Jiffy pop shrimp and pg-13 rice? please explain...and share.
Actually, can everyone share?

We had thanksgiving in October and my parents (and brother) are in Boston at my cousin's, so no T-day dinner for us. Actually it's parent/teacher interview night so we'll be most likely eating a costco hotdog in between school #1 and the arena. :( School number 2 tomorrow morning.

i have a turkey in the freezer....maybe when my parents are back I'll throw a late US t-day.

Given my wrist (or lack thereof) I put the kibosh on the whole big meal and guests thing. Normally, we'd ski in the morning and have skiing friends as guest in the afternoon. This year it's going to be just Andy, myself, Clara and FOOTBALL!

So, easy peasy menu:

Turkey breast (done sous vide)
Mashies
Gravy
Candied sweet potatoes
Cranberry relish
Waldorf salad (been craving it for some reason)
Brioche (like) dinner rolls
A nice bottle of 2006 Oregon Pinot.

No dessert...neither of us are likely to make it through dinner...

Amy
