All,

Apparently I'm grilling a whole salmon for Independant's Day. MIL says I need to make "sauce" to go with it, not sure what that should be exactly. I'll figure something out.

And, of course, sangria.

Guests are all bringing stuff, which is good because there's 25 of them.

You?

Not sure yet what we're doing. I was thinking about grilling pizzas as an appetizer and then standard burgers. Also thought of beer can type chicken. It's a friend's birthday so I'll make a carrot cake for him. Maybe some strawberry tarts...As I said, I am not sure yet :D

I'm working much of the day, so we're just going to go out to dinner somewhere and watch fireworks. We went to a house warming tonight, and they had kobe sliders, salmon sliders and brat sliders (do I see a theme here?), so I feel I got my fair share of grilled "junk" food for one weekend.

I was thinking about grilling Baltimore pit beef but we're not home enough over the next couple of weekends to be able to finish it up. Maybe towards the end of the month...

For some reason, in the second time in 2 weeks, I am having over 30 people at my house at the same time I have a house full of guests. I am just wild. Grilling again. Big feature is Italian sausages with peppers and onions. I am also making those tortellini skewers I made for the teachers. We are supplying drinks and the rest our friends are bringing. Our house guests are from the US and they brought a whole crap load of Americana bunting/decorations/disposable tableware. We are going to have red, white and blue up the ying yang.

Going to baseball game tonight and staying for the fireworks (hope there are some on the field a well)

Monday going to friends for BBQ and I am bringing desert. Since I just finished making 75 bottles of Limoncello (with a group of 10 women as a fund raiser for culinary scholarships), I thought I would make a Limoncello Tiramasu (saw it on the cooking channel)...its pretty, so I hope it tastes great.

Tonight we went out to dinner at our fave place, Lakeside Charlies. We met my aunt and uncle. It's only 2 miles from our house so we eat there often. Usually at least once a week. Right on Lake Cadillac and a killer filet!

Tomorrow we ar putting a Pork Butt in the smoker in the AM then we are going on a road trip to Manistee. On the way is Wellston where there is a meat market called the Dublin Store. Dave has been, but I have not, so we are taking a cooler and getting a supply of what ever looks good. They are supose to have good steaks, jerky and smoked meats. Then home for dinner.

Monday we are chillin on the deck. I am putting wings on the grill and large stuffed protabello's. Not sure what else except for a supply of Mojito's.

Happy 4th everyone!

Laurie
