The elementary school that I attended didn't offer traditional pizza for hot lunch. We got pizza burgers. The ingredients are 1 lb Ground Beef-Browned, 1 lb. Ground Bologna, 1 lb. Ground Processed Cheese, 1 10 oz can of Pizza Sauce and 1 Tbsp of Oregano. Mix all the ingredients together and spread onto Hamburger bun halves and bake. Delicious. This was a great way to use the commodity processed cheese, besides Mac and Cheese and Grilled Cheese.

Oh My!

I also love the dip with velveeta and rotel. Add a bit of browned sausage for extra yumminess. I think those are the same pizzaburgers we had in elementary school. Oooo the memories - they were a favorite. I may try them sometime. mr. trink would be horrified.

One of my kids' favorite side-dishes was (and is, sorry to say) a potato dish made with frozen hashed browns, cream, butter and velveeta. I must say, it is good.....they named them "Junk Potatoes."
